CET's very own Mollywood 'Hit' Debutant

CET Alumnus Basil Joseph (2011 batch) is a Malayalam film director, scriptwriter and actor. He began his career in 2012 as an actor in the short film ‘CET Life’. That same year he directed the short-films ‘Shhh..’ and ‘Priyamvadha Katharayano’.

Basil started his career in the Malayalam film industry with the well known Vineeth Sreenivasan assisting him in his third directorial venture as well as widely acclaimed movie, ‘Thira’.  His first independent film Kunjiramayanam didn’t have to wait long after that. This comical flick was released in 2015 while he was just 25 years old. His second movie, Godha, which narrates the story of a female wrestler starred Tovino Thomas and Wamiqa Gabbi in the lead roles.

After finishing college he had worked for Infosys for two years till he finally decided to follow his dream and get into films. Today he is not only a promising director but an inspirational actor in Mollywood. His latest movie Manoharam, in which he starred alongside Vineeth Sreenivasan and veteran actor, Indrans, hit theatres on 27th September 2019. The movie reminds us of the good old saying, ‘you are limited only by your imagination'.
