Shutterbugs, the official photography club of College of Engineering Trivandrum, started as a small venture to bring together photography enthusiasts and start a portal to exhibit their works. Initially, small photo-walks and exhibitions were conducted and the responses were overwhelming. This kick-started the growth of a large community of alumni and students of CET, interested in the art. A photo exhibition was conducted at Gandhi park near Sree Padmanabha theatre and a photo-walk at the Museum. Slowly, we started collaborating with the various fests of college. Photography contests are conducted every year as a part of Dhwani and Drishti, hence increasing the visibility of our college.
As a widespread community of talented people that comprises of alumni who have taken up careers in photography as well as in the film industry, we hope to spread our love for photography to more people.
For the past three years, we have been organising the Trivandrum chapter of Scott Kelby worldwide photowalk. Recently, we conducted an exhibition along with a workshop on the basics of photography. Currently, we organise photo-walks every third Saturday. Moreover, we have a Photobook and a magazine "Framed", released every year, showcasing our works. Apart from that, we have a media team in college for covering various events.
We hope to grow our community through more activities and collaborations and spread our enthusiasm for photography to more people.
